Senso-ji is Tokyo's oldest and most significant Buddhist temple, founded in 645 AD. The iconic Kaminarimon (Thunder Gate) with its massive red lantern leads to Nakamise Street, lined with traditional shops selling souvenirs and street food.
The main hall houses a golden image of Kannon, the goddess of mercy. Visitors can participate in traditional rituals: drawing fortune slips (omikuji), burning incense, and washing hands at the purification fountain.
