Wat Pho

Home of the magnificent 46-meter Reclining Buddha and birthplace of traditional Thai massage, Bangkok's oldest and largest temple.

Wat Pho is Bangkok's oldest and largest temple complex, famous for its 46-meter long Reclining Buddha covered in gold leaf. The temple predates Bangkok itself and is considered the birthplace of traditional Thai massage.

Beyond the reclining Buddha, Wat Pho houses over 1,000 Buddha images, beautiful chedis, and a renowned massage school. Stone statues of Chinese warriors guard the gates, and colorful tiles adorn the towering stupas.
